2. The present petition has been preferred for the following relief(s):

"(i) For issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus directing and commanding the Respondent authorities to issue

Patna High Court CWJC No.6228 of 2025(4) dt.27-07-2026 2/3 rent receipt creating new Jamabandi in the name of the petitioners with respect to the land in question. (ii) For further direction to the Respondent authorities not to settle the pond to any one as the land in question is raiyati land, rent has been paid to the State of Bihar till 1969 and still is in possession of the petitioners.

(iii) For further direction to the Respondent authorities to delete the land in question from the Sairat Register.

(iv) For further direction to the Respondent authorities to dispose of the representation of the petitioners by reasoned and speaking order within time framed.

(v) For any other relief/reliefs for which the petitioners are found to be entitled in the eye of law."

3. A counter-affidavit has come on behalf of the respondent nos. 2 to 4 and 7 and paragraph-37 shows that the Collector, Sheohar has already taken note of the representation of the petitioner and has registered Misc. Case No. 01 of 202627 which is presently pending for adjudication.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it will suffice if the same is taken to its logical conclusion but a time frame be recorded failing which it will take a longer period.

5. In that background, the writ petition stands disposed of allowing the Collector, Sheohar to dispose of the Misc. Case No. 01 of 2026-27, after hearing all the parties, in accordance with law, preferably by 31st of December, 2026.

6. Before passing an order, the Collector, Sheohar is directed to constitute an enquiry team, seek report and only thereafter, after hearing the parties, take a decision. (Rajiv Roy, J) Adnan/- U
