The petitioner, who is in custody since 24.03.2020, seeks bail in connection with Maner P.S. Case No. 170 of 2020, dated 24.03.2020, instituted for the offence under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016. The petitioner is alleged to have been carrying 100 litres of locally brewed liquor on a motorcycle. It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he has been arrested on mistaken identity. Considering the nature of accusation against the petitioner, his period of custody and his clean antecedent, he is directed to be released on bail on his furnishing bail bonds in the sum of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Special Judge (Excise), Patna in connection with Maner P.S. Case No. 170 of 2020.
The application stands allowed.
