JUSTICE ASHWANI KUMAR SINGH ORAL JUDGMENT Date: 19-07-2016 By way of the present application preferred under Articles 226 & 227 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner seeks a direction to be issued to the respondent authorities to provide police protection on the ground that the petitioner and his family members have threat perception at the hands of local criminals who have already eliminated three of his sons.

It has been submitted by the learned counsel for the State that no representation has been made by the petitioner seeking police protection till date. He has also submitted that in case a

WJC No.370 of 2015 dt.19-07-2016 2 / 2 proper representation is filed before the District Level Security Committee, Patna, the same shall be considered on merits and an appropriate order would be passed within reasonable time. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that though he had approached the police authorities earlier, he would file an appropriate representation before the District Level Security Committee, Patna within two weeks from today. In view of the submissions advanced at the Bar, the application is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to file representation before the District Level Security Committee, Patna alongwith a certified copy of the order within two weeks from today. In case, such a representation is filed, the District Level Security Committee is directed to consider and dispose of the same on merit by a reasoned order within six weeks from the date of filing of such representation.
