2. The petitioner apprehends his arrest in a case registered for the offence punishable under Sections 318(4), 338 and 336(3) of the B.N.S..

3. The prosecution case, in brief, is that this petitioner purchased a Bolero Pickup Van bearing Registration No. BR05GD-1412 from Mahindra Finance. The petitioner was not depositing the installment money for the last seven months due to which, a notice of confiscation to the vehicle was issued by the company. Later on inquiry, the company came to know that petitioner is driving the pickup by putting a fake registration number i.e. BR05GC-3314 on it. Upon this information, on

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.23988 of 2026(3) dt.29-06-2026 2/2 21.01.2026, informant along with other officials of the company went, recovered the vehicle and handed over the same to police.

4. It is submitted by learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner that petitioner is quite innocent and has committed no offence. Petitioner has falsely been implicated in this case with ulterior motive. Petitioner claims clean antecedents.

5. On the other hand, learned A.P.P. for the State has vehemently opposed the prayer for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner and submitted that petitioner is named in the F.I.R. and there is specific accusation that this petitioner bought a pickup van by financing the same from Mahindra Finance Company and defaulted payment for seven months and was using the vehicle by putting fake registration number on it.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and specific and direct nature of accusation, the prayer for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner is rejected. (Prabhat Kumar Singh, J) shashank/- U T
