====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE A. ABHISHEK REDDY ORAL ORDER 20-01-2025 Heard the learned counsel for the parties.

The present writ petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- "1. That the petitioner beseeches indulgence of this Hon'ble Court by preferring this writ petition with a prayer for issuance of appropriate writ/writs in the nature of mandamus commanding the concerned respondents to make the payment of Rs. 2,000,00/- along with the interest to the petitioner who is the nominee of his father account in Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank, Rajepur vide the Account No. 1002271010000042 and father of the petitioner insured himself under Pradhanmatri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna (PMJJBY) and paid the premium of Rs. 330/- on 22.05.2018 (PMJBY Renew 2018) and expired on 10.01.2019 and the concerned respondent did not pay the amount under Pradhanmatri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna (PMJJBY) after repeated reminders and request and the petitioner further prays for any other relief/reliefs which the petitioner may be found to be entitled in the facts and circumstances of the present case."

Learned counsel for the petitioner has stated that the petitioner's father has taken a policy with the respondentCorporation under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana (PMJJBY) for which the petitioner's father has paid the premium amount. Learned counsel has further stated that in spite of several representations made to the Bank, the authorities are not paying the amount to the petitioner.

4. In the counter-affidavit filed by the respondentBank, it is specifically stated that the father of the petitioner was having an account in which his wife i.e., the mother of the petitioner Smt. Rekha Devi was made as nominee and till date the nominee has not come forward to claim the amount. That in case the nominee files a proper consent-cum-declaration form as required under the scheme of PMJJBY along with requisite documents, the same shall be forwarded to the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to settle the insured amount.

5. Having regard to the above made submissions, the present writ petition is disposed of directing the respondentBank that in case the nominee i.e., Smt. Rekha Devi comes forward with the consent-cum-declaration form along with requisite documents, the same shall be forwarded to the LIC to settle the insured amount.

6. With the above direction, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
