Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P for the State.

The petitioner seeks bail in Imamganj P.S. Case No. 203 of 2019, registered for the offence punishable under Section 387 of the Indian Penal Code.

Prosecution case in brief is that three unknown call of ransom of Rs. 2 lakh were made to the informant from three different mobile numbers and also threatened to kill him. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that petitioner has falsely been implicated in this case. Petitioner is not named in the FIR. Name of this petitioner has come in this

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.24314 of 2020(2) dt.24-09-2020 2/2 case on the basis of confessional statement of co-accused Rajesh Kumar. During course of investigation, no tangible evidence has come against this petitioner which indicate his involvement in the aforesaid crime. Charge sheet has already been submitted. Petitioner is in custody since 16.12.2019.

Learned APP however, vehemently opposed the prayer for bail and submitted that there is allegation of demand of ransom and petitioner is accused in many cases of similar nature.

Considering the facts aforesaid, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner above-named on bail. Accordingly, the same is rejected.
