1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1. That this writ petition is being filed for issuance of an appropriate writ, order or direction for directing the respondents authority to grant the petitioner license for keeping a D.B.B.L. Gun license because his deceased father namely Sri Lalbabu Singh as already having a D.B.B.L. Gun license no. 09/1987 and before his death he sworn an affidavit requesting the gun licensing authorities to transfer his D.B.B.L. gun license to his son i.e. the petitioner. Presently said gun has been deposited at the appropriate

Patna High Court CWJC No.8150 of 2024(2) dt.25-07-2024 2/2 authority gun shop the further relief prayed by petitioner is for issuance of an appropriate writ order or direction to the respondents to complete the necessary formalities issue him gun license because petitioner has already submitted application for gun license along with all necessary papers in the year 2015, that shortly after death of his father and till date order has not been passed."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to file a fresh application, for transfer of arms license of his deceased father in his name/grant of fresh arms license. Liberty so sought is granted.

3. It is needless to state that in case appropriate application is filed by the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from today, the District Magistrate, Patna, shall consider the same, in accordance with law and pass a reasoned and a speaking order, within a period of eight weeks, thereafter.

4. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
