The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "i) For issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to appoint the petitioner on the contract basis for the post of Junior Engineer under Rural Development Department, Govt. of Bihar. Patna considering his suitability for the post treating him of General Category.
ii) For declaration that the petitioner is entitled to contract-appointment for the post of Junior Engineer under Rural Development Department,
Patna High Court CWJC No.18805 of 2015(2) dt.05-10-2023 2/2 Govt. of Bihar, Patna on the basis of the merit list prepared after the written Tests for contract Appointment to posts under District Rural Development Agencies."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks not to press the present writ petition, however seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to apply in the fresh selection process, however, submits that his case may be directed to be considered on its own merits. Liberty so sought is granted. 3.
The writ petition stands disposed off.
