Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.22548 of 2020(4) dt.02-11-2020 2/2 The petitioner is in custody in connection with Trial No. 31 of 2019 arising out of CIS No. 47 of 2019 appertaining to N.C.B. Case F. No. NCB/PZU/V/13/201913 of 2019 (NDPS Case No. 18 of 2019 for the offence under Sections 8, 2, 20, 25 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act. In the instant case, there is recovery of 240 kilograms of Ganja from a plastic bags.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has no criminal antecedent and he is in custody since 26.05.2019.
Considering fact that there is recovery of huge quantity of Ganja, the Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Prayer for bail is rejected.
Both these applications are accordingly dismissed. However, the court below is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same expeditiously preferably within a period of nine months.
