JUSTICE PARTHA SARTHY ORAL ORDER 05-01-2022 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State through video conferencing. No one appears on behalf of the Opposite Party no. 2 on the second consecutive date.
The petitioner has filed the instant application for grant of anticipatory bail apprehending his arrest in connection with Bettiah Mahila P.S. Case no. 14 of 2018 registered under sections 498A, 341, 323, 504, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
By order dated 27.2.2020 the matter was referred to the Patna High Court Mediation Centre and it was directed that no coercive steps shall be taken against the petitioner.

No.24505 of 2019(14) dt.05-01-2022 2/3 It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that a supplementary affidavit has been filed in the instant case stating therein that both the petitioner and the Opposite Party no. 2 appeared for mediation and the matter was settled between the parties in terms of the agreement jointly signed by both of them and the same has been brought on record as Annexure-2 to the supplementary affidavit.
As per the terms of the said agreement, the petitioner has paid a total sum of Rs. 5 lacs to the Opposite Party no. 2 as stated in paragraph no. 9 of the affidavit.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and taking into consideration the facts of the case, the contents of the supplementary affidavit filed on behalf of the petitioner, the Court directs the petitioner to be enlarged on anticipatory bail. The petitioner is directed to surrender in the Court below within a period of four weeks from today and in the event of his arrest or surrender in connection with Bettiah (Mahila) P.S. Case no. 14 of 2018 he will be enlarged on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/-(Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned C.J.M, Bettiah, West Champaran subject to the conditions as laid down under section
