Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. for the State.
The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with POCSO Case No. 22 of 2020, arising out of Teghara P.S. Case No. 185 of 2020 lodged under Sections 376 of the Indian Penal Code and under Section 4 of the POCSO Act.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is in custody since 05.07.2020. He further submits that chargesheet has been filed, charge has been framed and
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.26471 of 2022(2) dt.18-08-2022 2/2 some of the prosecution witnesses are examined. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that there is a direct allegation of commissioning of rape against this petitioner with a nine year old female child.
In the present facts and circumstances of this case and the submissions made above, I am not inclined to grant bail to the present petitioner at this stage.
However, learned lower court is directed to expedite the trial at the earliest preferably withing six months. With this observation, the bail application stands rejected.
