1. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned APP for the State.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioners at the outset very fairly submits that charges have been framed and trial has commenced but not a single prosecution witness till date has been examined and thus submits that the petitioners would be satisfied in the event if a direction is given to the learned trial court to expedite the trial.
3. Considering the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, the court is not inclined to entertain the quashing application. However, the learned trial court is
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.52932 of 2017(2) dt.05-12-2023 2/2 directed to ensure that the trial is expedited and concluded expeditiously as prolonged trial causes mental agony. The court expects that the learned trial court shall make endeavours to conclude the trial within a period of 18 months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, if possible.
