Civil Writ Jurisdiction Case No 22532 of 2014 ====================================================== Raman Kumar Singh ... ... Petitioner/s

Versus

The Union Of India and Ors ... ... Respondent/s ====================================================== Appearance :

For the Petitioner/s :

Mr Sanjay Kumar, Advocate For the Respondent/s :

Mr Ravindra Kumar Sharma, CGC ====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR JUSTICE MADHURESH PRASAD ORAL ORDER 03-05-2019 After some arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a different view could have been taken with regard to the punishment, which has been inflicted upon the petitioner, had the issue been raised by the petitioner before the authorities. It is submitted that the petitioner will make one endeavour to persuade the Director General, Central Industrial Security Force (Respondent No 2) to consider toning down the punishment. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioner would be making an endeavour by making a representation before Respondent No 2.

The jurisdiction of the Writ Court to substitute punishment or to interfere in the quantum of punishment is very limited. Therefore, the issue is to be decided finally by respondent No 2.

Patna High Court CWJC No.22532 of 2014(3) dt.03-05-2019 2/2 Writ petition is, therefore, disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to approach Respondent No 2, as prayed for. (Madhuresh Prasad, J) M.E.H./- U
