In this case, the petitioner is seeking anticipatory bail in connection with Sanjhauli P.S. Case No.98 of 2017, registered for the offence punishable under Sections 409, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioner is holding the post of Assistant Post Master of Sanjhauli Post Office. Allegation has been made that he has misappropriate an amount of Rs.14,50,000/- from 28 different accounts.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that during the inquiry the amount of misappropriation has been reduced to Rs.3,47,723/-. But, the fact remains that the petitioner was holding the post of trust, it was a public money.

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.18786 of 2018(2) dt.05-04-2018 2/2 Looking to the nature of allegation, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected.
