The instant writ application has been filed by the petitioner for correction of name of the mother of the petitioner in the marks sheet of diploma issued by National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the name of the mother of the petitioner is Champa Devi which is mentioned in the admit card of matriculation, intermediate, college leaving certificate and all other certificates issued by the Control Board of Secondary Education but the name of the

Patna High Court CWJC No.7236 of 2020(2) dt.10-09-2020 2/2 mother of the petitioner has been wrongly mentioned as Malti Devi instead of Champa Devi in the marks sheet of Diploma issued by NIOS.

Considering the aforesaid, the writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file representation before the respondent no.3 alongwith a copy of this order enclosing all supporting documents to demonstrate that the name of the mother of the petitioner is Champa Devi and not Malti Devi. ,the respondent no.3 will take appropriate decision with regard to correction of the name of the mother of the petitioner in the certificates and marks sheet and the other relevant documents maintained by the NIOS.

Entire exercise in this regard may be completed by the respondent at the earliest, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of representation alongwith a copy of this order. With the aforesaid, the writ petition stands disposed of.
