The petitioner is an old lady. She apprehends danger to her properly and life from persons who want to encroach/grab her land/property. In the circumstances, the writ petition has been filed seeking protection commanding the respondents to provide her police protection in safeguarding her property. Considering the threat perception of a citizen called as protected person the police protection is sometime recommended and granted by the District Security Committee. The petitioner has also remedy of invoking the emergent provision under the Code of Criminal Procedure to provide her protection of law.

The writ application, in my view, deserves to be disposed of permitting

Patna High Court CWJC No.20106 of 2013 dt.24-06-2016 2/2 the petitioner to represent her case for grant of police protection before the District Security Committee or before the District Magistrate enabling them/him to consider her claim in accordance with law without much delay. I order accordingly.
