Petitioner seeks bail in Excise Case No.140 of 2019 instituted for the offence under Section(s) 30(a) and 56(b) of Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016 pending in the Court of the Special Judge, Excise, Gaya.

It is alleged that 640 litres country made liquor has been recovered from the Scorpio vehicle, which was being driven by this petitioner. The vehicle was without number plate. In such circumstances, keeping in view the recovery of huge quantity of illicit liquor, this Court is not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail at this stage. Prayer of the petitioner for grant of bail is rejected at

The trial Court is directed to expedite the trial and make all efforts to conclude the same as early as possible, preferably, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Liberty is given to the petitioner to renew his prayer for bail after completing six months in custody, if no substantive progress is made in the trial.
