The petitioner apprehends arrest in a case registered for the offence punishable under section 498A and other ancillary sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the allegation of subjecting the opposite party no.2 to cruelty and harassment for fetching dowry is mainly against her husband (Shashi Ranjan Sinha) and in fact the petitioner, aged about 62 years is the mother-in-law of the victim, and she lives separately, as such, she is least concerned with her affairs.

In the event of arrest/surrender, let the petitioner mentioned above be enlarged on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Patna City in Chowk Police Station Case No. 416 of 2019, subject to the conditions laid down under section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
