2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the Election Commission has the power to reduce the period of disqualification. Hence, he prays for withdrawal of this case.

3. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty to the petitioner to file an appropriate application before the Election Commission of India.

4. If such an application is filed, the Election
