1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1(i) For issuance of an appropriate Writ/Writs in the nature of Mandamus Commanding and directing the Respondent to quash the letter dated-04-07-2015 contained in Memo/Letter No.Ma/IR/AKM/1104, issued by the Respondent Assistant General Manager by which the representation dated-26-062015 for Compassionate appointment of the petitioner has been rejected and petitioner was given only Ex-gratia amount.

(ii) Further for issuance of an appropriate direction

Patna High Court CWJC No.7125 of 2023(2) dt.22-11-2023 2/2 to the respondents to accept the Ex-gratia amount from the petitioner, which was given to him and appoint the petitioner on Compassionate ground on any suitable post.

The mother of the petitioner namely Sheela Devi died in harness working as Massinger in S.B.I, A.M.Y, branch Mathurapur, Samastipur on 15-042015.after death of his mother petitioner made an application for appointment on the basis of compassionate ground within time with all relevant documents but the same was rejected and he was given Ex-gratia amount ignoring the circular for compassionate appointment in Public Sector Banks applicable w.e.f. 05-08-2014 vide Ministry of Finance D.O.F.No. 18/2/2014-IR,dated- 07-082014."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks not to press the present writ petition, however, seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to avail such other alternative remedies as are otherwise available under the law, for redressal of the aforesaid grievances. Liberty so sought is granted.
