The petitioner apprehends his arrest in Complaint Case No.401C of 2016 registered under Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

The complainant alleged that marriage of his daughter was settled with the son of the petitioner. The complainant spent good money on the eve of engagement. Later on, the petitioner demanded Rs.1 lakh and a motorcycle. Due to non-fulfillment of additional demand of dowry, the marriage of the daughter of the complainant could not take place.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the

On account of some petty dispute, the marriage was not settled with the daughter of the complainant and that is why complainant filed this case making false allegation of demand of dowry.

Taking into consideration the facts aforesaid and nature of allegation made against the petitioner, let the petitioner, above named, in the event of his arrest or surrender before the court below within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the order, be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/-(Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned S.D.J.M., Bettiah, District-West Champaran in connection with Complaint Case No.401C of 2016, subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
