The present petition has been filed seeking the following relief :- "(i) For issuance of writ in the nature of writ of mandamus directing commanding the respondents to consider the case of the petitioners for empanelment and consequential appointment on Group 'D' Post on regular basis in the district of Darbhanga in the light of Letter No. 16441 dt.

03.12.1980, Letter No. 3577 dated 25.04.1997, issued by Department Personnel and Administrative Department Govt. of Bihar, Patna and Letter No. 10/Nyaya-0570/2011 Sa. Pra. dt. 28.12.2011, issued under signature of Chief Secretary, General Administrative Department, Govt. of Bihar, Patna and on the basis of inclusion of their names in such panel, taking into account entire length of engagement rendered by them as candidate peon in the Collectorate of Darbhanga and in its attached offices."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioners seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioners to avail such other alternative remedies, as are otherwise available under the law
