Husband of the petitioner, who was SAP Constable, while deputed on election duty, passed away due to certain illness. Her claim for ex gratia was forwarded by the office of Director General of Police on 29.10.2015 to the Superintendent of Police, Arwal, who has thereafter forwarded claim of the petitioner to the District Election Officer -cumDistrict Magistrate, Arwal. The claim has been sent on 10.11.2015 for payment of compensation to the husband of the petitioner namely Maksudan Pandey (SAF No. 786). In spite of such communication Counsel for the petitioner submits that the widow of Maksudan

The state of affairs is deplorable, to say the least. Even in spite of loss of life of petitioner's husband the claim has been kept pending for so many years.

In view of such situation appearing from the counter affidavit filed by respondent State, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate, Arwal to process the recommendation for compensation to the petitioner on account of death of her husband under communication dated 10.11.2015 in accordance with the extant circular/instructions in this regard positively within a period of three months and to make payment of compensation to which the petitioner is found entitled to as per the extant instruction within the aforesaid period.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
