24-09-2015 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.C. to Govt. Pleader - 20.

The petitioner, who superannuated as Sub-Inspector of Police w.e.f. 01-11-2007, has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition in the month of November, 2008, with a prayer to direct the respondents to promote him as Sub-Inspector of Police w.e.f. 09-08-1995 instead of March, 2002. It has been claimed that as per scheme under A.C.P., he had completed 24 years of service on 01-08-1995 and as such, the respondents may be directed to promote the petitioner w.e.f. 01-08-1995.

The Court considers that there is no such provision in

Moreover, the petitioner was promoted as Sub-Inspector of Police in March, 2002 and continuing on the said post, he retired in 2007 and after much delay, the present writ petition has been filed. In view of peculiar prayer made in the writ petition, the Court is satisfied that no relief can be granted. The writ petition stands dismissed.
