2. The present petition has been preferred for the grant of following relief(s):
"(i) for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing of the 2nd Provisional
2/4 Seniority List of 773 Unlicensed Applicants of Saw Mills" dated 17.02.2026 (Annexure-P-4) finalized by the Principal Chief Conservator Forest (Development) Bihar (Respondent No. 4) whereby the petitioner has allegedly been excluded from the aforesaid Provisional Seniority List without asking any show cause notice in the facts and circumstances of this case.
(ii) for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent No.3 Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Bihar, Patna to decide the objection dated 06.03.2026 and 16.03.2026 (Annexure-P-5) filed by the petitioners against the 2nd Provisional Seniority List of Saw Mills dated 17.02.2026 in terms of Notification No. 3240 dated 29.08.2023 issued by the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of Bihar.
(iii) for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent No. 4 Principal Conservator Chief of Forest
3/4 (Development) Bihar to include the application of license of the petitioners dated 05.01.1998 and 12.05.2000 in the final seniority list in the facts and circumstance of this case.
(iv) for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent No.4 not to finalize final seniority list till the objection dated 06.03.2016 and 16.03.2026 are decided after hearing the petitioners in the facts and circumstances of the case.
(v) for issuance of such other writ(s), order(s), direction(s) as your Lordships may deem fit and proper."
3. At the outset, learned State counsel pointed out that the objection of the petitioner is pending before the respondent Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Bihar, Patna and it will be taken to its logical conclusion.
4. In that background and on an undertaking given by the learned State counsel, the writ petition is disposed of directing the concerned respondent to dispose of the objection of the petitioners if still not disposed of, at an earliest preferably within a period of three months from the passing of the present
4/4 order.
5. This Court expects that the list will be prepared by the respondent authorities shall strictly will be in accordance with law and not otherwise.
