JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 04-07-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "(i)For issuance writ in the nature of Mandamus directing and commanding the respondent authorities to grant Arms license in the name of petitioner.

(ii)For issuance of direction to the respondent authorities to disposed of the application filed by petitioner for grant of Arms license dated 13.10.2023 by reasoned and speaking order."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, West Champaran at Bettiah, to dispose off the application, filed the petitioner, for

Patna High Court CWJC No.6901 of 2024(2) dt.04-07-2024 2/2 grant of arms license, on 13.10.2023.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondentState submits that in case any application has been filed by the petitioner for grant of arms licence and the same is still pending consideration, the same would definitely be disposed off, within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

4. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, West Champaran at Bettiah, to dispose off the aforesaid application, filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending consideration, by passing a reasoned and speaking order, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
