It is submitted that the petitioner filed an application in the year 2013 for grant of firearm licence for N.P. bore rifle but no decision has been taken by the licensing authority, who is the District Magistrate, East Champaran, till date though the police authority has already recommended the matter of the petitioners.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances, this writ application is being disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate-cum-Licensing Authority, East Champaran, Motihari, to take a final decision in the matter of the petitioners
