The present writ application has been preferred on behalf of the petitioner for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents, particularly respondent nos.4 and 6, for sanction of non-refundable advance from the provident fund account of the petitioner for which a written request was made by the petitioner on 22.12.2021.

3. A counter affidavit filed on behalf of respondent nos.3 and 4 is on record and in para-7 of the said counter affidavit, it is stated that the reliefs sought for by the petitioner in this writ petition is fulfilled and a sum of Rs.6,00,000/- has

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that from perusal of Annexure-R/A series, it is evidently clear that Rs.6,00,000/- was sanctioned on 11.01.2022 but it was credited in the account of the petitioner on 04.08.2022, after delay of more than seven months. Hence, the petitioner is entitled for the interest on the said amount for the interregnum period.

5. Accordingly, this writ application is disposed of with a direction to respondent no.3 to pay the interest to the petitioner at the rate of 6% per annum from 11.01.2022 to 04.08.2022 within a period of eight weeks.

6. It is made clear that if this order is not complied within the stipulated period, this Court may take serious view of the matter.
