Prayer of the petitioner in the present writ petition is that the respondent had vacated the rented premises in May, 2010 but he has not been paid rent for the period 2007 till the date of vacating the house. The only grievance of the petitioner is that after calculating the total amount of the rent as per the agreed terms the petitioner must be given interest on the total

Patna High Court CWJC No.7802 of 2022(2) dt.04-01-2023 2/2 amount at the bank rate, which was applicable in the year 2007. Considering the limited prayer of the petitioner the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents concerned to make payment of the dues amount of rent to be paid for the period the respondent have not paid to the petitioner and interest at the rate applicable during the said period.

The petitioner may claim compensation in accordance with law. The respondents are directed to take decision within a period of eight weeks' from the date of receipt of this order in accordance with law.
