In this case, the petitioner is seeking bail in connection with Teghra P.S. Case No. 238 of 2019 registered for offences under sections 302, 304-B, 120-B/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

As per allegation, the marriage of the sister of the Informant, Reena Devi was solemnized with the petitioner in the year 2014. On account of demand of dowry, she used to reside in her Maika. On 4.6.2019, the petitioner went there and brought her to his house on assurance to keep her with dignity. But, again the accused persons started to torture her. On 16.6.2019, the victim girl gave a phone call to the Informant, narrating him

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.28036 of 2020(3) dt.02-02-2021 2/2 the story in what manner she is being tortured by the accused persons. The Informant also heard the screaming sound of his sister as also the sound of the petitioner and other accused persons in the background. On next day, the Informant rushed there and found the door was locked from inside and, thereafter, the body of the Informant's sister Reena Devi and his niece Shivani were found hanging.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it is a case of suicide but, from the material, it appears otherwise. The petitioner is the husband and is languishing in judicial custody since 1.9.2019.

Looking to the nature of allegation as also considering the entire facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner, above named, is rejected with a direction to the court below to expedite the trial and conclude the same expeditiously preferably within a period of nine months from the date of receipt of this order.
