That this application is being filed for issuance of an appropriate writ / order / direction to the Respondent authorities to grant Arms License of one N.P. Bore Rifle to the petitioner. 1(A). That the petitioner further prays for issuance an appropriate writ / order / direction to the Respondent-District Magistrate, Rohtas to dispose of this application filed for grant of arms license under the Arms Act."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has filed an application for grant of

Patna High Court CWJC No.7682 of 2024(2) dt.18-07-2024 2/2 arms license as far back as in the year 2017, however, the same has not yet been disposed off, thus, a direction be issued to the District Magistrate, Rohtas at Sasaram, to dispose off the same. 3.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the Respondent-State submits that in case, the petitioner has filed an application for grant of arms license and the same is still pending, it shall be disposed off, within a fixed time frame.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Rohtas at Sasaram, to consider the application, filed by the petitioner, for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending consideration and pass a reasoned and a speaking order, within a period of six weeks of receipt / production of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
