JUSTICE SUDHIR SINGH ORAL JUDGMENT (Per: HONOURABLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE) Date: 01-07-2015 This writ application is filed by way of public interest litigation with a prayer to direct the Government to introduce 'Maithili' language as medium of instruction in all the primary schools in the 'Mithila' area of the State of Bihar. Series of orders was passed and ultimately the Government has come forward not only to introduce the language, but also publish the book. As a first effort, a text book with the name 'Kachnar' for Class-6 has been published.

Patna High Court CWJC No.18798 of 2012 dt.01-07-2015 2/2 We are satisfied with the steps taken by the Government and we direct that for the subsequent classes also, the book shall be published with each passing year. Writ application is, accordingly, closed.
