2. This writ application has been filed for directing the respondents to appoint petitioner on compassionate ground in place of his father who was working as Head Master at Rajkiya Middle School, Saristabad, Block- Modanganj, Dist.- Jhahanabad who died on 11.03.2016 during the service period.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite filing an application by the petitioner for appointment on compassionate ground on 02.03.2017 before the District Programme Officer Establishment, Jehanabad along with prescribed form and several certificates and documents

Patna High Court CWJC No.7205 of 2024(2) dt.21-11-2024 2/2 (Annexure-5), no action has been taken till date.

4. However, by filing counter affidavit, learned counsel for the State respondent contends that the name of petitioner has already been considered and recommended for appointment on the basis of compassionate ground as such, this writ application has become infructuous.

5. It is the case of compassionate appointment. Essence of policy of granting compassionate appointment is to grant immediate succor to the family of the deceased employee to save it from destitution.

6. In this case, in the background of the stand taken by the State respondent in the counter affidavit, this writ application is disposed of with direction to the respondent authority to take necessary steps and complete the entire process of appointment at the earliest.
