2. In compliance with the order of this Court dated 13.03.2026, a second show-cause affidavit has been filed on behalf of O.P. No.4. It has been stated therein that upon receipt of Sanction Letter No. 1069 dated 18.02.2026, the office of the Accountant General, Bihar, issued Authority Letter No. Pen-06- (25-26)-1519 dated 17.03.2026 to the Treasury Officer, Hajipur, Vaishali, authorizing payment of family pension in favour of the petitioner.
3. Mr. Lakmesh Marvind, learned Advocate for the
Patna High Court MJC No.1400 of 2024(13) dt.19-06-2026 2/3 petitioner, submitted that despite the authority letter having been issued by the Accountant General, till date, family pension has has not even been started and the petitioner has again been put to suffering on account of such inaction and, therefore, the order of this Court has not been fully complied with.

Having considered the specific stand taken by the Accountant General, Bihar, in the affidavit filed before this Court, and taking note of the fact that the requisite authority letter had already been issued on 17.03.2026, this Court is of the view that no further proceedings are required to be continued in the present contempt petition. Accordingly, the contempt proceeding is closed with the expectation that the Treasury Officer, Hajipur, Vaishali, shall ensure payment of all the outstanding due amount/family pension expeditiously, preferably within a period of four weeks from today.
5. It is made clear that the petitioner shall furnish a copy of this order before the Treasury Officer, Hajipur, Vaishali. Upon receipt thereof, the Treasury Officer shall take immediate steps to ensure payment of the outstanding amount/family pension dues within the aforesaid period. In the event of failure to do so, it shall be open to the petitioner to file a brief affidavit for revival of the present contempt proceeding.

6. With the aforesaid observation, the present contempt petition stands closed.
