The present petition has been filed seeking the following relief :- "(i) For issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent authorities to appoint the petitioner lady on the post of Vikash Mitra of village- Panchayat Mungaon situated in Dumraon Block, District- Buxar, which is vacant due to death of Savita Kumari (the present Vikash Mitra), inasmuch as according to guidelines, the next candidate of merit list will be appointed as Vikash Mitra and the petitioner is the next candidate of the merit list. "

The learned counsel for the petitioner fairly submits that with the efflux of time, the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous, hence, the same be disposed off. 3.
