JUSTICE VIKASH JAIN ORAL JUDGMENT Date: 23-08-2018 The present writ petition has been filed for quashing of notice dated 09.11.2012 issued in Certificate Case no. 18/2012-13 and notice dated 05.11.2012 issued in Certificate Case No. 23/201213 whereby and whereunder the Certificate Officer, Baisi, Purnia has directed the petitioners to deposit Rs. 83,201.16 and Rs. 44,947.78 respectively under the provisions of the Bihar & Orissa Public Demand Recovery Act, 1914; and for connected reliefs.

2. None appears on behalf of the petitioners despite repeated calls.

A perusal of the statements made in paragraph 7 of the counter affidavit discloses that Certificate Case No. 18 of 2012-13 against the petitioner no. 1 and Certificate Case No. 23 of 2012-13 against the petitioner no. 2 have been dropped by orders dated 31.10.2014 and 21.10.2014, respectively. It is therefore evident that the writ petition has become infructuous.
