====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE ORAL JUDGMENT Date : 21-09-2017 This petition is pending since 1999 and on 11.03.2004 it was directed to be listed after disposal of Civil Appeal No. 6356 of 2000 pending before the Supreme Court. The said Civil Appeal No. 6356 of2000 has been decided by the Supreme Court on 24.08.2004 and in fact the appeal filed by the State Government against the order passed earlier in the case of the petitioners has been dismissed. The Civil Appeal is decided by the Hon'ble Supreme Court on 24.08.2004 and now it is not known as to what further benefit the petitioners are entitled to.

Taking note of all these circumstances,it is directed that in case any dispute or claim of the petitioners with regard to the issue in question still subsists and the petitioners are entitled to any further benefit after the order passed on 24.08.2004, the petitioners are granted liberty to initiate fresh proceedings and claim the benefit afresh in accordance with law. With the aforesaid liberty to the petitioners, the writ petition stands disposed of.
