JUSTICE AJAY KUMAR TRIPATHI ORAL ORDER 22-09-2017 The issue boils down to payment of 12.5% interest on the provident fund contribution for the period 1985-86 to 1998-99. Such claim is being made by the petitioner in terms of the Resolution No.4184 and 4193 dated 13.07.1985. Stand of the State is that on the basis of the recommendation, authorization and payments have been made. It is made clear that interest at the rate of 12.5% is not payable across the board to an employee on his contribution of GPF unless a minimum contribution of a fix percentage per month is made by an employee of his basic salary. Such an

If the contribution of the petitioner has been more than the percentage, which has been fixed in terms of the said resolution, then the matter may require reconsideration or the position will be made known to the petitioner. If the petitioner files an application with a copy of this order, the District Provident Fund Officer will look into the contributions and communicate the outcome thereof to the petitioner, preferably within a period of three months of such an application.
