2. The petitioner is apprehending arrest in connection with Barun P.S. Case No. 57 of 2020 registered on 04.03.2020 for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 149, 341, 323, 379, 427, 386, 435, 504, 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

As per the prosecution, the present F.I.R. has been lodged against fourteen named and 20-25 unknown accused persons, alleging that all the accused came to the Anikat Sandhghat barrier armed with lathis and dandas and attempted to illegally pass tractors through the area. When the informant protested, the accused persons allegedly began abusing and assaulting him. It is further alleged that the accused persons damaged a room constructed near the barrier and set it on fire,

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.31590 of 2025(3) dt.23-07-2025 2/3 resulting in the burning of computers kept inside. They are also alleged to have forcibly taken away toll amounts collected from 13 vehicles by putting the informant and other officials in fear.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in the case. It is contended that the allegations are general and omnibus in nature and no specific overt act has been attributed to the petitioner. The petitioner has no connection with any of the co-accused persons and was not present at the place of occurrence. It is further submitted that several co-accused persons have already been granted bail by a Co-ordinate Bench of this Court vide orders dated 28.02.2022 passed in Criminal Miscellaneous No. 25156 of 2021, Criminal Miscellaneous No. 25481 of 2021, and Criminal Miscellaneous No. 29856 of 2021. The petitioner has no criminal antecedents.

5. Learned APP for the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail and submits that the case pertains to the year 2020, and the petitioner has approached this Court after an inordinate delay of nearly five years. The petitioner is a named accused, and serious allegations including arson and snatching of money have been levelled against him in the F.I.R.

6. In this background, this Court is not inclined to
