2. Pursuant to order dated 19.11.2019, the Collector, Bhagalpur is present in Court.

3. The matter is simple. The petitioner is aggrieved by nonpayment of the compensation amount for his land acquired way back in the year 1981. It was submitted that earlier this year, the Collector had made a requisition to the Revenue Department for releasing the fund but still it has not been done.

4. At this juncture, the Collector, Bhagalpur submitted that the present matter was being handled by a Special Land Acquisition Officer, as he then was, and the department had also issued the sanction letter, but from 1st October, 2019, the post has been abolished and there

Patna High Court CWJC No.4734 of 2017 dt.25-11-2019 2/2 is an officer at the departmental level and the matter has to be dealt with four departments in coordination with each other. It was submitted that thus, due to such technical /procedural requirement some time has been taken but he assured the Court that latest within two weeks actual payment shall be transferred to the account of the petitioner.

5. Having regard to the facts as stated by the officer, the Court is inclined to grant him indulgence.

6. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed off with a direction to the Collector, Bhagalpur to ensure that the amount on the date of payment, in accordance with law, shall be transferred to the account of the petitioner latest within two weeks from today.
