JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 15-07-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "(i) For issuance of an order/orders, direction/directions including the writ of mandamus commanding the Respondents for grant of Arms Licence for Safety and security of the petitioner.

(ii) For issuance of an order/direction or an appropriate writ holding a declaration that petitioner deserves an Arms Licence for his protection and safety."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Buxar, to dispose off the application, filed by the petitioner on 22.10.2022, for

Patna High Court CWJC No.7629 of 2024(2) dt.15-07-2024 2/2 grant of arms license.

3. Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondentState submits that in case any application has been filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license and the same is still pending consideration, the same would definitely be disposed off, within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

4. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Buxar, to dispose off the aforesaid application, filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending consideration, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
