The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Jamui P.S. Case No. 51 of 2019, registered under Sections 147, 148, 149, 302, 120(B) and 504 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act, pending in the Court of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jamui.

From perusal of the record, it appears that court below has submitted a report in which it has been stated that due to pandemic of Covid-19, the record has not been committed to the Court of Session.

Considering the information given by the District and Sessions Judge, Jamui and taking into consideration the fact that the record of the case has not been committed as yet. The court below is directed to conclude the trial within a period of one year to take

In view of the letter of the learned Sessions Judge, Jamui, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail, at this stage. Accordingly, the application for grant of regular bail is stands rejected.

It is, however, observed that in case the trial of the petitioner is not concluded in the aforesaid period of one year, the petitioner would be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail after one year.
