1. Heard learned Counsel for the parties concerned.

2. The petitioner has filed the present writ application for a direction to the respondent no. 4-the District Magistrate -cum- Licensing Authority, Nawada, to grant arms license to the petitioner of rifle and pistol taking into account the threat upon the petitioner's life.

3. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner submitted an application for grant of arms license before the District Magistrate -cum- Licensing

Patna High Court CWJC No.7804 of 2025(2) dt.09-09-2025 2/3 Authority, Nawada, on 02.08.2024. The police report has been submitted by the Superintendent of Police, Nawada, to the Licensing Authority, vide letter contained in Memo No. 374/2024, dated 06.10.2024. The arms license application of the petitioner is pending since then before the District Magistrate -cum- Licensing Authority, Nawada. Accordingly, the prayer is that the District Magistrate -cum- Licensing Authority, Nawada, may be directed to take a final decision on the application of the petitioner for grant of arms license.

4. Learned Counsel for the State submits that the District Magistrate -cum- Licensing Authority, Nawada, may be directed to take a final decision within a reasonable time frame.

5. Regards being had to the submissions advanced by the parties and taking into consideration the nature of payer made in the writ application, the District Magistrate -cum- Licensing Authority, Nawada, is directed to take a final decision on the application of the petitioner for grant of arms license in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
