Heard Mr. Hilal Ahmad, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Nand Kumar, learned counsel for the State.

This is an application seeking quashing of the F.I.R of Town P.S. Case No. 645 of 2013 dated 20.11.2013 instituted for the offence under Sections 406, 420 and 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 64 of the Indian Stamps Act.

This matter was first heard on 21.03.2018, when a report was called for from the court below about the stage of the case. The report has since been received. The report is dated 26.03.2018, which indicates that the case was pending awaiting the final report in the matter. Approximately two and half years have passed by and the investigation must have been completed. However, in the absence of any information regarding the current stage of investigation, this court directs that if the investigation is still pending it must be concluded within a period of three months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

In case the petitioner is aggrieved by the aforesaid report of the police, he will have the liberty to approach the court below in the remedies, which are available to him.

This petition stands disposed of accordingly. (Ashutosh Kumar, J) Sunil/- U T
