1. Heard the parties.

2. The petitioner claims to have been appointed on adhoc basis by the Sanskrit University in 1983. He has filed the present writ application for payment of adhoc amount for the period 1999 to 2020. The petitioner has retired in the year 2020.

3. Learned counsel for the University submits that the petitioner was appointed by the Registrar on adhoc basis

Patna High Court CWJC No.16595 of 2016(4) dt.04-07-2024 2/2 and was paid a sum of Rs. 500/- as lumpsum amount for the period September 1987 to July 1988 and then January 1991 to June 1999. Since the petitioner was appointed on the non-sanctioned post, the State Government is not giving any grant to the petitioner for payment of adhoc amount or the daily wages to the petitioner.

In view of the nature of dispute and the claim of the petitioner that he has worked continuously till 2020 and he is entitled to be paid adhoc amount or the daily wages for the period, this writ application is disposed with liberty to the petitioner to file representation before the Vice-Chancellor of the University. If such representation is filed, the Vice-Chancellor is directed to dispose the same in accordance with law within a reasonable time frame after giving opportunity of hearing to the concerned college.

5. Accordingly, the present writ application is disposed with the liberty aforesaid.
