The petitioner has renewed his prayer for grant of regular bail in a case registered under section 387 of the Indian Penal Code.

As per the prosecution case, extortion call was received by the informant from the mobile number mentioned in the FIR.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the earlier prayer for bail of the petitioner was rejected vide order dated 30.11.2021 (Annexure-1) giving liberty to the petitioner to renew his prayer for bail in six months, if there is no progress in the learned trial court.

It is submitted that the petitioner is in custody since 14.7.2020 and the trial has not proceeded in the learned trial

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.32269 of 2022(4) dt.14-09-2022 2/2 court in so far as not a single witness has been examined on behalf of the prosecution. The petitioner is in custody since 14.7.2020 and undertakes to cooperate in the trial. Heard learned APP for the State.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and taking into consideration the nature of allegation against the petitioner, the petitioner being in custody since 14.7.2020 together with the liberty granted to the petitioner in the earlier order of rejection dated 31.11.2021, the petitioner is directed to be enlarged on bail in connection with Dhaka P.S. Case no. 239 of 2020 on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Sikrahana at Dhaka, East Champaran.
