2. The petitioner seeks bail in Vigilance P.S. Case No. 13 of 2026 registered for the offences under Sections 7(a), 7(b) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Amendment Act 2018).

3. The allegation is that the petitioner was arrested in a trap of taking bribe of Rs. 35,000/-.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a Revenue Officer and the charge-sheet has already been submitted in the case. He further submits that the petitioner is in custody since 04.02.2026 and has no criminal antecedents.

5. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.33549 of 2026(3) dt.24-06-2026 2/3 has vehemently opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner.

6. The records would show that the case is entirely based on documentary evidence and all the documents are admittedly in the possession of the prosecution. The petitioner has been in custody since 04.02.2026, which is nearly five months. Further, the petitioner, being a Government servant, is already exposed to the consequence of departmental proceedings which are bound to visit his career adversely. Continued custody does not serve any further custodial purpose in the facts of this case. This Court is accordingly inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

7. Let the petitioner, above named, be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the concerned Special/Vigilance Court, Patna in connection with Vigilance P.S. Case No. 13 of 2026.

8. It is made clear that any observation made herein is prima facie in nature and limited solely for the purpose of adjudication of the present bail application. Such observations shall not be construed as an expression on the merits of the case and shall not
