Heard learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and learned A.P.P. for the State.

Let the defect(s), if any, be removed within two weeks of the complete start of the physical Court in normal course.

The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Chenari P.S. Case No. 48 of 2020 for the offence punishable under Section 304B/34 of the Indian Penal Code. Allegation is of demand of dowry and causing death for non-fulfillment of the same. Petitioner along with other family members used to subject the victim to cruelty and harassment and for non-fulfillment of the demand of dowry, the deceased who is wife of the petitioner was strangulated to death.

Considering the serious nature of offence having been committed by the husband of the deceased who is petitioner before this Court, I am not inclined to enlarge him on bail at this stage.

Accordingly, the present bail application is rejected. Considering the period of custody, the trial court is directed to conclude the trial within a period of nine months. If no substantial progress takes place in the trial during the aforesaid period, the petitioner, if so advised, may renew his prayer for bail.
