The petitioner is languishing in custody since 25-05-2018 in a case registered for the offence punishable under Section 387 of the I.P.C.
The accusation is of demanding ransom of rupees two crores from the informant and on refusal, consequent life threatening to him.
It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that even assuming the accusation to be true, no offence under Section 387 of the I.P.C. is made out. It is further submitted that though the petitioner is accused in 14 other cases, but in most of the cases, either he is on bail or he has been acquitted. Considering the fact that the investigation has already concluded and the period in custody, let the petitioner above named be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned C.J.M., West Champaran at Bettiah in connection with Bettiah Town P.S. Case No. 71 of 2018.
The learned Court below will be at liberty to cancel the bail bonds of the petitioner in case he gets involved in serious nature of offences.
