The petitioner is in judicial custody in connection with Shekhopur Sarai P.S. Case No. 84 of 2016 registered under Sections 364, 498(A)/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3⁄4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act lodged on 03.09.2016 by the informant, Dhanesh Kumar.

As per the prosecution story, the allegation is that the marriage of the sister was solemnized with the petitioner but was always tortured for dowry and later, they came to know that she has been killed. Accordingly, the FIR.

In this case, the Co-ordinate Bench Bench of this Court had called for a report which has since been received

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.33772 of 2023(3) dt.24-08-2023 2/2 from the Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge-III, Sheikhpura vide letter no. 78 dated 07.07.2023. As per it, charges were framed only on 11.01. 2022 and seven (7) prosecution witnesses have already been examined till date.

Considering the fact that the case has now reached at an advanced stage, it would be appropriate that the same is taken to its logical conclusion within a period of six months. The bail application stands rejected.
